Steel Re-rollers is the company through which L7 Group entered India's iron and steel sector. Re-rolling converts semi-finished steel into the bars, sections and shapes that construction and manufacturing actually buy, which is where demand from infrastructure and housing is felt first.

The business is a natural fit for the group: L7 already casts through Steel Castings, so it understands the specifications its customers work to and the consequences of material that does not meet them.

Re-rolling itself is a straightforward industrial process: semi-finished steel is reheated and passed through successive roll stands until it reaches the required section and dimensional tolerance, then cooled and cut to length. The demands are consistency of temperature, accuracy of the roll pass sequence, and testing against the specification the customer has quoted.

India's steel demand is driven by construction, infrastructure and manufacturing, and re-rollers sit at the point where that demand becomes a specific product. For L7 Group, entering the sector was a way of serving the industries it already works in rather than a move into an unfamiliar market.
